[EFFECT OF LEAF WASTE PROPORTION AND TYPES OF LOCAL MIKROORGANISM ON THE QUALITY OF BOKASHI]. The purpose of this study was to get a combination of the treatment of the leaf waste proportion and local microorganism (MOL) type to the quality of bokashi. The use of specific MOL as a bioactivator is expected to produce a good bokashi. The production of bokashi was conducted at the Garbage Collection Center of Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The experimental design was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors including the proportion of leaves (D) and the type of MOL (M). The first factor consisted of two levels (50% and 70% leaf) and the second factor consisted of 4 levels (rice MOL, soil MOL, bokashi MOL, and leaf waste MOL). The quality of bokashi was measured based on the total cell counts of microbes, pH, C/N ratio, descriptive test (texture, aroma, and colour), and plant growth tests on corn. The results showed that all bokashi have complied with SNI 19-7030- 2004. The best bokasi was obtained from the combination between 50% leaf waste proportion and MOL type of rice. This bokashi had a total microbes of 4.1 x 108 CFU/g, pH value of 7.4, C/N ratio of 10.2, with organoleptic characteristics of loose texture and slightly moisture, slightly soil-scented, blackish color and the hight of test plant of 61 cm. The main advantage of this bokashi compared to others was in the highest number of microbes total and the best texture

Kata kunci: styrofoam, plastik, kemasan, sosialisasi, sekolah, survey ABSTRACT The use of plastic packaging as packaging material for food requires special attention to students in schools in Banda Aceh. One of the packaging used is Styrofoam. The use of styrofoam packaging is very much, especially in food packaging. They used Styrofoam on hot food so that the packaging could react and produce carcinogenic compounds. Sellers often use this packaging because it is easy, light, and cheap, but from a health perspective, it shows that this packaging is not suitable for use in hot food packaging because it will react with the polymer content. This service is carried out by socializing the dangers of using plastic packaging, especially the primary material of Styrofoam, to students at MTSN 1 Banda Aceh. The data generated before the socialization was carried out, almost 79% of these students understood the use of plastic, especially Styrofoam, after socialization and the results of the survey conducted showed that 83% of students became aware of the dangers of using Styrofoam, this indicates that these results are the basis for students to understand the use of styrofoam packaging. Keywords: styrofoam, plastic, packaging, socialization, school, surve

Empirical Assessment of Machine Learning Techniques for Software Requirements Risk Prediction

[EN] Software risk prediction is the most sensitive and crucial activity of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). It may lead to success or failure of a project. The risk should be predicted earlier to make a software project successful. A Model is proposed for the prediction of software requirement risks using requirement risk dataset and machine learning techniques. Also, a comparison is done between multiple classifiers that are K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Average One Dependency Estimator (A1DE), Naïve Bayes (NB), Composite Hypercube on Iterated Random Projection (CHIRP), Decision Table (DT), Decision Table/ Naïve Bayes Hybrid Classifier (DTNB), Credal Decision Trees (CDT), Cost-Sensitive Decision Forest (CS-Forest), J48 Decision Tree (J48), and Random Forest (RF) to achieve best suited technique for the model according to the nature of dataset. These techniques are evaluated using various evaluation metrics including CCI (correctly Classified Instances), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Relative Absolute Error (RAE), Root Relative Squared Error (RRSE), precision, recall, F-measure, Matthew¿s Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Receiver Operating Characteristic Area (ROC area), Precision-Recall Curves area (PRC area), and accuracy. The inclusive outcome of this study shows that in terms of reducing error rates, CDT outperforms other techniques achieving 0.013 for MAE, 0.089 for RMSE, 4.498% for RAE, and 23.741% for RRSE. However, in terms of increasing accuracy, DT, DTNB and CDT achieve better results. This work was supported by by Generalitat Valenciana, Conselleria de Innovacion, Universidades, Ciencia y Sociedad Digital, (project AICO/019/224)Naseem, R.; Shaukat, Z.; Irfan, M.; Shah, MA.; Ahmad, A.; Muhammad, F.; Glowacz, A.... Erectile dysfunction is common in adult men, particularly those with hypertension and diabetes. The present study determines the effectiveness of angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drugs on erectile function in hypertensive male adults. For this purpose, CENTRAL and MEDLINE and reference lists of the articles were searched. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were selected that compared ARBs with conventional therapy or no treatment in men of any ethnicity who were presented with hypertension and/or diabetes. A total four trials that had 2,809 men were included. Three trials reported adequate random sequence allocation, two reported adequate blinding. Attrition bias is low in one of the included studies. All three studies are of low risk of selective reporting bias. There was an improvement in sexual activity with ARBs (valsartan) (mean difference (MD): 0.71, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) 0.66 to 0.76, I2 statistic = 0%). However, the erectile functions did not increase significantly in ARBs (losartan or telmisartan) treated men as compared to control or placebo (n = 203 vs n = 232; MD: 1.36; 95% CI: −0.97 to −3.69; I2 statistic = 80%). These results suggested that ARBs significantly improved sexual activity among hypertensive men. However, the erectile function was not significantly improved in ARBs treated men as compared to the control or placebo-treated. There were limited studies available. Hence, additional studies are needed to support findings from this review. ARBs should be considered when prescribing antihypertensive drugs to men

    Get PDF
In this paper, torque, torque density, efficiency and efficiency slope of concentric magnetic gear (CMG) at different yoke sizes are evaluated using 2D finite element. Transient analysis when eddy current loss included and excluded are simulated. Efficiency to speed o used in this study is similar to the original gear ratio, 5.5. The change in the yoke size also effect the torque density of the CMG. The finding showed that the change in size at the outer rotor yoke influence the torque and efficiency the most. The smallest outer rotor yoke yields higher torque density of 55% then the average value in this study and slower gear efficiency degradatio

    Get PDF
Purpose Postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a potentially lethal and morbid complication after open heart surgery. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate metoprolol compared with other treatments for prophylaxis against POAF. Methods We searched CENTRAL, MEDLINE, EMBASE and trial registries for randomised controlled trials that evaluated metoprolol for preventing the occurrence of POAF after surgery against other treatments or placebo. Random-effects model was used for estimating the risk ratios (RRs) and mean differences with 95% CIs. Results Nine trials involving 1570 patients showed metoprolol reduced POAF compared with placebo (416 patients; RR 0.46, 95% CI 0.33 to 0.66; I²=21%; risk difference (RD) –0.19, 95% CI –0.28 to –0.10). However, metoprolol increased the risk of POAF compared with carvedilol (159 patients; RR 1.59, 95% CI 1.20 to 2.12; I²=4%; RD 0.13, 95% CI 0.06 to 0.20). There was no difference when compared with sotalol or amiodarone. The occurrence of cardiovascular conditions after drugs administration or death between the groups was not different. The overall quality of evidence was moderate to high. Subgroup analysis and funnel plot were not performed. Conclusions Metoprolol is effective in preventing POAF compared with placebo and showed no difference with class III antiarrhythmic drugs. Death and thromboembolism are associated with open heart surgery, but not significant in relation to the use of metoprolol

    Get PDF
Background: Increased resistance of microorganisms to commonly prescribed antibiotics has emerged as a significant hurdle in contemporary medical practice. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared antibiotic resistance as a " major threat to public health.". In the present study, bacterial isolates were selected based on high antibiotic and heavy metal tolerance from a water sample taken from hospital sewage. Methods: Antibiotic-resistant bacteria were isolated through the disk diffusion method. Gram staining was done for morphological identification. For molecular identification, the 16s rDNA PCR amplification was done with universal primers. Results: The strain BC1 was found resistant to ampicillin (10μg/ml), and cefixime (5μg/ml). While, susceptible to kanamycin (30μg/ml), azithromycin (15μg/ml) and intermediate in response to amoxicillin (30μg/ml). The strain BC2 was resistant to ampicillin (10μg/ml), cefixime (5μg/ml) and kanamycin (30μg/ml). While, Susceptible to amoxicillin (30μg/ml), and intermediate in response to azithromycin (15μg/ml). The strains were also found resistant to heavy metals. Conclusion: The recent investigation on bacterial strains from hospital effluent found interesting candidates for understanding the AMR bacteria and developing novel active biomolecules to combat the antibiotics problem. The isolated strains could be a source of novel resistant genes however; a comprehensive molecular analysis is needed for advanced studies
